Would you like to attend the royal wedding?

If that’s not possible, here’s a way all you knitters can get involved in celebrating the big event. This fun book by Fiona Goble includes patterns to knit keepsake dolls for all the royal wedding characters.

This is a great project if you have a daughter or granddaughter who dreams of being a “princess bride.”

Just for fun… Watch this video to see the fashion trends for 2011:

1) Sheer fabrics
2) Crop tops
3) Wide leg pants
4) Shorts
5) Full skirts

The hot new color is orange.
Turquoise will carry over into next year.

It takes a little time for the runway trends to work their way into mass America. But, be watching for these to pop up in your local stores.

As you’re planning your American Girl dolls’ wardrobes, keep your eyes open for remnants of sheer fabric. You also might have an old silk scarf you can recycle to make a full skirt. As I watch for which trends ’stick’ I’ll add new patterns to the site.

I love the idea of crop tops with wide-leg pants for the dolls. Leave a comment below and let me know what you like best.
